Change WithPrint 2023 Calendar: A Toolkit for Creative Activism

The average person spends a third of their life at work. If you want to make a positive difference in 2023 - start there.

The 2023 Change WithPrint Calendar has been put together by creative agency Leap, a Certified B Corporation and WithPrint as a tool for creative activism in the studio and beyond. From the individual, to the agency through clients and customers. It has been estimated that up to 80% of environmental impact is decided at the design stage - design really does matter.

The calendar, created in collaboration with organisations like Creative Conscience, Design Declares, Clean Creatives and the Woodland Trust, doubles as a toolkit for making positive change. It features actionable steps towards planet smart design, advice from leading change-making organisations on topics such as declaring a climate and nature emergency, becoming an agency activist and bringing others with you.

The calendar itself is also an example of sustainable print design. It is printed on a variety of paper stocks made from recycled coffee cups, hemp fibre, spent brewers grain and the Earthshot prize-winning Notpla seaweed paper, which all have a lower footprint than papers made from virgin wood pulp. 

Illustrations and typography are both designed with minimal ink use in mind without sacrificing readability - or beauty. To encourage reuse of existing resources, the team chose to repurpose dies from a previous design and the Smile Plastics recycled yoghurt pot bases are designed to be reused year after year.

Collaboration is the key to climate progress in 2023, and the Change WithPrint 2023 Calendar encourages collaboration on every level, from person to person, business to business and on a global scale. That is how small changes start to get that big needle moving.
