DoNthg. is a conceptual mobile wellbeing application created to address an overlooked problem among university students: the unability to rest without guilt. In academic cultures that glorify constant productivity, students often feel preffured to be "on" at all times, even during breaks. This leads to chronic fatigue, burnout and anxiety, where rest feels undeserved or inefficient. DoNthg, challenges this mindset by designing for stillness and guilt-free rest.

Rather than tracking habits, goals or streaks, the app removes performance metrics entirely. It offers gentle prompts, ambient interactions and micro-moments that invite users to pause without expectations. This interface is deliberately calming and non-judgemental, reducing performance pressure. The tone of voice reassures users that rest is valid, even when little is accomplished.

The project followed a research-led UX process, by covering multiple different research methodologies from surveys and interviews to contextual enquiries and other observational techniques. Through affinitization, insights revealed that many wellness apps unintentionally add stress by gamifying self-care. DoNthg, responds by rejecting optimisation culture and reframing rest as a necessary human need rather that reward. Through iterative prototyping, usability testing- the experience was refined to feel intuitive. DoNthg. does not aim to fix users, but to give them permission to stop; creating a safe digital space supporting guilt-free rest.
