The Treatment Not Jail Act will expand eligibility for treatment and support for court-involved individuals with substance use challenges, mental health concerns, and other disabilities - shifting the presumption from incarceration to community support. To raise awareness and garner support for the Treatment Not Jail Act. F.Y. Eye created a campaign emphasizing the urgent need to prioritize treatment over incarceration and challenge the prevailing fear-driven narrative.

Our creative approach for the Treatment Not Jail campaign involved leveraging compelling facts, quotes of interviews from the Rikers Island Jail, a dynamic mix of fonts, and employing a vibrant color palette of pink and yellow to create visually impactful materials that effectively conveyed the urgency and importance of the initiative. 

We executed a multi-faceted approach to reach state legislators and inform them about the Act. This included strategically placed billboards, LED digital trucks near the State Capitol building in Albany, an exhibit showcasing information about the bill in the Legislative Office Building, and a digital policy brief. Notably, the billboard alone generated an impressive 533,830 impressions, capturing the attention of policymakers and the public alike.
