In 2023, as a freelance graphic designer, I spearheaded the branding and design for the landmark 5th-anniversary event of Women Who Create, a non-profit organization founded by Shaunah Margaret. This event not only commemorated the organization's half-decade of empowering creative women of color but also served as a platform for professional networking and community building among creatives.
The branding involved the creation of a distinct anniversary logo, symbolizing the strength and unity of the organization, and celebrating their growth over the last five years. This logo became the centerpiece of a comprehensive event design, featuring social media posts and banners, directional signage, and informational cards for the event. The highlight was a custom-designed photo backdrop, which not only enhanced the event's ambiance but also provided an interactive element for attendees. I also captured and edited video content on-site, weaving together the event's narrative to further engage the organization's audience.
Recognizing the power of social media in amplifying our message, I played a pivotal role in branding Women Who Create's digital footprint. This involved designing a unique set of icons that showcased the organization's diverse offerings and resources on Instagram.
Furthermore, I designed the organization's annual report elevating their visuals to reflect their brand values of inspiration, celebration, and community. This became a narrative tool that highlighted the tangible impacts and initiatives of Women Who Create over the year and outlined the visionary goals and future initiatives.
By creating a cohesive and inclusive community experience and dynamic branding, my designs sought to echo and amplify the core values of Women Who Create.
